To search contacts for a contact, do the following:
- In SchoolMessenger, go to the System tab, Contacts sub-tab.
- Click on "Search for Person"
- Type in the student's last name, phone number (4027862321), student id number, or email address.
- Note: To get to a student's contact, you must go to the student first then at the bottom of the student you can click the contact.
- Click the Search button
- In the results, click the ID number of the contact to open it.
- Looking at the contact, can be confusing so let's break it down...
- In the #1 red box, we look to see if the contact has logged in using the app or web portal and changed/overrode their district settings. If they did override the district settings then it is possible they unchecked a box needed to receive alerts. To fix this, you will need to make it match what is shown in the gray checkboxes to the right.
- In the #2 red box, we look to confirm it doesn't say pending. Blank is good! If it says pending then the parent needs to opt-in following these directions: https://www.district145.org/vnews/display.v/SEC/Parents%7CDistrict%20145%20Alerts found on the District website > Parents > District 145 Alerts.
