Sometimes you may find that students have content that is blocked by the CIPA filter. This is seen by a message resembling the following:

Teachers have access to a whitelist management system that will allow you to temporarily grant access to sites if the content is needed for lessons or student research.

To grant temporary access to a site:

  1. Go to portal.district145.org/whitelist.
  2. Log in with the same credentials used to log in to your computer. (firstname.lastname)
  3. Enter the site you need to allow access to in the "domain.com" box.
  4. Based on your school...
    1. For WHS, select "Group: webfilter_students_whs"
    2. For WMS, select "Group: webfilter_students_wms"
    3. For WIS, select "Group: webfilter_students_wis"
    4. For HES, select "Group: webfilter_students_hes"
    5. For EES, select "Group: webfilter_students_ees"
  5. Set the time limit needed.
  6. Add a comment if you want. (These comments are visible to your building's admins and tech staff.)
  7. Click Add to Whitelist.

If you need to grant permanent access to a site or if you believe a site is being blocked unnecessarily, you can create a helpdesk ticket request to have the site permanently whitelisted.
