Video Tutorial (5:35) - available to All D145 Staff

  1. Elmo Interactive Toolbox software must be installed, if not follow these instructions.

  2. Power on the Elmo.

  3. Connect the Elmo doc cam USB cable to your computer.

  4. On your computer in Applications, open the Elmo Interactive Toolbox software.  It will automatically recognize the Elmo and show the Elmo

  5. If you don’t see the Elmo, confirm the Elmo is powered on, the USB cable is connected to the Elmo and your computer.  If all check out then quit the Elmo application and reopen it.  If reopening it doesn’t fix it then reboot the computer.  If a reboot doesn’t fix it then submit a helpdesk ticket.

  6. Now that you see the item that is under the doc cam on your computer screen via the Elmo software, we are ready to get it to the projector.

  7. Open chrome and click to the 3 vertical dots in the upper right corner.

  8. Select Cast

  9. SUPER IMPORTANT: Click Sources and select “Cast Screen” to show your entire screen/desktop and any application.

    1. If you skip this step, you will only see a google tab so you will need to stop casting by clicking the 3 vertical dots > clicking Cast > clicking the stop button beside the chromecast you initially cast to.  Then you will need to redo this step and be sure to select “Cast Screen”.

  10. Go back to the Elmo application and you will see your Elmo on the projector.

  11. The Elmo is only tied to your computer and a wall outlet.  You can move your computer and Elmo to any location in your classroom as long as you have power to the Elmo.

  12. When done, you can stop casting by clicking the 3 vertical dots > clicking Cast > clicking the stop button beside the chromecast you initially cast to.

  13. If done with the Elmo application then you can quit the Elmo application.

  14. Done!
