  1. Hovercam Chrome App must be added to your Chrome browsers, use this link to add it.

  2. The Hovercam unit must be set to USB, here are instructions on how to set it.

  3. Power on the Hovercam.

  4. Connect the Hovercam doc cam USB cable to your computer.

  5. On your computer in your chrome browser in the bookmark bar, go to Apps or D145 Sites > Chrome Apps and open the Hovercam Chrome App.

    1. If you want to create a bookmark for Apps, bookmark this link (as-is): chrome://apps/

  6. The app will automatically recognize the Hovercam and show the Hovercam doc cam on your screen.

  7. If you don’t see the Hovercam, confirm the Hovercam is powered on, the USB cable is connected to the Hovercam and your computer, confirm you can see the item under the camera on the Hovercam screen.  If all check out then “X” out of the Hovercam Chrome App and reopen it.  If reopening it doesn’t fix it then reboot the computer.  If a reboot doesn’t fix it then submit a helpdesk ticket.

  8. Now that you see the item that is under the doc cam on your computer screen via the Hovercam Chrome App, we are ready to get it to the projector.

  9. Open chrome and click to the 3 vertical dots in the upper right corner.

  10. Select Cast

  11. SUPER IMPORTANT: Click Sources and select “Cast Screen” to show your entire screen/desktop and any application.

    1. If you skip this step, you will only see a google tab so you will need to stop casting by clicking the 3 vertical dots > clicking Cast > clicking the stop button beside the chromecast you initially cast to.  Then you will need to redo this step and be sure to select “Cast Screen”.

  12. Go back to the Hovercam application and you will see your Hovercam on the projector.

  13. The Hovercam is only tied to your computer and a wall outlet.  You can move your computer and Hovercam to any location in your classroom as long as you have power to the Hovercam.

  14. When done, you can stop casting by clicking the 3 vertical dots > clicking Cast > clicking the stop button beside the chromecast you initially cast to.

  15. If done with the Hovercam Chrome App then you can “X” out of the Hovercam Chrome App.

  16. Done!
